Epstein's Kosher Deli

This past Monday, Josh and I interviewed the owner of Epstein's Kosher Deli located at 387 Central Park Ave in Hartsdale. If you would like to contact the deli the number is (914) 428-5320. We had a brief (non-video) interview with the owner discussing the deli:

How long have you been open?
We've been in business for 40 years but the restaurant ownership changed recently this past year.

What type of food do you sell here?
We sell specialized Jewish & kosher food. Some of the most popular food's here are overstuffed Jewish sandwiches; pastrami, corn beef, ect.

Why should people come here?
We are one of the only kosher deli's in the area. We really care about the community, and we believe residents should have access to great kosher food. We also have outstanding service and great hospitality. We have enhanced the customer service since we took over the restaurant. Also we have high quality food and it can be served hot, and it's always fresh.

So be sure to visit Epstein's Kosher Deli at 387 Central Park Ave. Great food, great service

Co-Editor's

Hi, we're the intern's that are working for Paul Feiner and we will be taking care of this blog. We will periodically be posting Interview's, Blog entries, and photo's of our project "Think Globally, Shop Locally". The goal of this blog is to help promote local business and inform not only local merchants of our campaign, but also to encourage Greenburgh residents to shop locally.

I'm Anthony Schepis, I am a senior at Scarsdale High School. I'm going to Fordham University in the Fall, studying political science. I joined Supervisor Feiner to learn more about local government, as well as help struggling businesses during the recession. Hopefully, we will be able to get many more interviews to help out local merchants.

I'm Josh Ringel, I am currently a senior at Hastings High School. I will be attending the University at Albany in the Fall, studying public policy. I joined Supervisor Feiner to learn more about how local government works and how local government plays into the state government as a whole.

Think Globally, Shop Locally

Dear Local Business:

The Town of Greenburgh wants to help your local business succeed in this difficult economy. These are just a few action steps we plan to take:

1) We plan to create a business registry –a list of all businesses located in the town of Greenburgh. We will advise all businesses listed on the registry of all legislative initiatives that might impact you. In addition, we hope to create a business advisory committee. This committee will work with town officials –helping identify ways that the town can be more helpful.

2) We would like to create a link on our website (http://www.greenburghny.com/) to local business websites—helping you publicize your business.

3) The town will produce a very short FREE video that will be posted on the town website and on you tube of your business.

4) We will promote local businesses on public access TV ---interviewing businesses and highlighting the services you offer.

5) We will highlight different local businesses at different meetings of the Greenburgh Town Board –our board meetings are televised liveon the internet. That’s just for starter’s. Your suggestions are welcome ---your feedback will be considered.

Sincerely,
PAUL FEINER, Town Supervisor Judith Beville, Town Clerk Thomas Madden, Commissioner of Planning
